Most construction employers appreciate being given a term of transition when they can identify new hires to replace you and sort through and gain control of your outstanding involvements with their firm. If they want you to help them with this they will likely treat you well, and if they do not want you around they will likely ask you to leave. Use this time to secure good relations with coworkers, subordinates, clients and managers to minimize any negative feelings or issues with your departure.
