Job Description: |
General Description:
Directs all A/E activities and is accountable to Project Director for all aspects of A/E performance on assigned projects including budgets, schedule and quality. Oversees and manages assigned staff. Serves as primary client interface on design matters.
Specific Duties:
Administrative:
* Participates in formulation of overall A/E and corporate policies and procedures.
* Participates in Group administrative duties and staff reviews as requested by Group A/E Principal.
Project:
* Directs and is accountable for the total A/E project effort.
* Coordinates staff allocation to projects with other A/E Project Principals and Group A/E Principal.
* Provides leadership in project teaming and integration of design and construction staff.
* Participates in marketing, business development and proposal efforts.
* Directs and is accountable for outline specifications production.
* Assists Project Director in establishing a corporate project strategy, definition of key issues, A/E scope of work, criteria, schedules and fees.
* Participates in selection of outside design consultants. Negotiates and manages agreements and directs their work.
* Directs and is accountable for development of and compliance with a comprehensive and cohesive drawing and specifications production strategy.
* Directs and is accountable for initial criteria acquisition, distribution to A/E team and development of appropriate responses following review.
* Provides leadership in implementation of corporate quality processes.
* Develops A/E financial and labor budgets and is accountable for A/E financial performance.
* Directs and is accountable for project design and documentation quality, coordination among disciplines and conformance to the corporate standards for all phases of work.
* Directs and is accountable for all scope change definition and management of impact on A/E financial and labor budgets, project profitability and schedules.
* Directs and is accountable for A/E schedule compliance. Negotiates scheduling conflict resolution among A/E disciplines and between A/E and construction staff.
* Directs and is accountable for conformance of project systems and components with project criteria. Negotiates issue resolutions among A/E disciplines and between A/E and construction.
* Participates in project closeout and is responsible for archiving of A/E documents. Participates in post-construction review process.
* Directs and is accountable for A/E response to requests for assistance on warranty issues.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
· A baccalaureate degree in either architecture or engineering
· Registration is required.
· 10+ years A/E management experience.
· Leadership and management skills.
· Interpersonal skills.
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD and an interest in advancing our Industrial designs with a BIM model produced in Revit would be highly valued.
· Knowledge of programming and the latest technology, trends and sustainable issues associated with industrial facilities.
· Proficiency in Word and Excel is required. PowerPoint is desired.
· LEED AP desired, not required.
· Leadership and management skills.
