Vice President - Engineering   Employer: New York Racing Association Job Location: Saratoga Springs , NY Cash Compensation: Industry Type: Building Owners Job Description: Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the VP of Engineering will: * Provide technical leadership skills with demonstrated ability to work within a complex, multi -venue environment * Major contributor in the development of both tactical and strategic plans associated with the plant and facility. Manage all engineering projects from concept through fulfillment * Assume primary responsibility for the implementation of all engineering projects and capital improvement plans. * Work within organization to develop project costs and timelines and associated management and tracking systems * Develop and build relationships with industry professionals (designers, architects, general contractors, tradesmen, organized labor leaders, etc) The ideal candidate will possess: * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering * 5+ years relevant experience including: scope of work development, budget, project and resource planning and implementation of large scale commercial and/or industrial projects * Working knowledge of CAD technology * Demonstrated superior verbal and written communication skills * In depth understanding of New York State building codes * Working knowledge of engineering disciplines pertaining to: construction methods and materials, applicable building code, and regulatory compliance matters * Working knowledge of the principles of Project Management and conversant in the utilization of computerized project management systems such as MS Project or its equivalent * Prior experience working with organized labor Company Description: The New York Racing Association, Inc. is a private, non-profit association that owns and operates the three largest racetracks in New York: Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga.
