Job Description: The MWH Southern California Natural Resources Industry and Infrastructure team, is looking to augment its staff with a Senior Engineer-Environmental. Position will be located in Portland, Oregon.

Assignments may include the design of remediation systems for contaminated soil and groundwater, investigation of the distribution of contaminants in the environment, treatment technology evaluations, oversight of construction projects, project management, proposal preparation, participation in presentations to clients, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
1. Independently select, evaluate, and apply scientific principles and techniques to collect and analyze data for the assessment of potential environmental liabilities and solutions (e.g. ground water conditions and soil contamination, air impacts, human health risk assessment, large scale industrial property transaction due diligence, etc.).
2. Collaborate with other technical professionals and support or lead field activities such as soil and water sample collection, remediation system pilot studies, remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M); multi-media environmental compliance studies, and/or environmental due diligence studies.
3. Organize, draft and coordinate technical reports such as remedial investigation and environmental site assessment reports, feasibility studies, corrective measures studies, etc., to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
4. Develop new business, including prospective client identification, and serve as the Proposal Manager for small to mid sized projects. Assist with and participate presentations as needed.
5. Perform Project Manager duties on small and medium-size projects, including, but not limited to, developing preliminary budgets and conducting budget management activities, determining the scope of work, assigning project staff to tasks, establishing schedules, meeting the client's expectations, conducting technical work, reviewing invoices, and maintaining client relationships.
6. Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a fast paced environment. Should possess project management skills and understand quality control functions to ensure the production of high quality deliverables to our clients.
7. Prepare invoices and assume responsibility for financial management of projects. This includes managing the collection of accounts receivable in collaboration with the MWH financial support teams.
8. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field).
Masters Degree in Engineering would be a plus.
Registered professional Engineer desirable.
7-12 years of environmental consulting experience.
Excellent organizational, technical, data interpretation, written and verbal communication skills, and computer competency.
Well organized, eager to contribute to the business unit team. Willing to take on a wide variety of field, project management, business development, organizational management, and reporting tasks.
